Note that the Japanese Embassy in Thailand is located in the Pathum Wan district of Bangkok and also note their operating hours in Bangkok. It is always best if you call the Embassy to check if they are open. There are separate application forms for thai and non-Thai residents in Thailand who wish to visit Japan. This will be for non-Thai nationals applying for a Japanese visa in Bangkok.
Visa Application for non-Thai
For expats who live in Thailand, the Japanese Embassy will need to see your Thai visa which has been extended as well as your re-entry permit in your passport. If you work in Thailand then you work permit will also be needed. Note that there are nationalities that do not require a Japanese visa. There are a total of 68 Countries and Regions for visa exemptions. You will need to complete all the forms as it takes 5 working days to issue you with the visa.
