Chumphon City is the capital of Chumphon province in Thailand. It’s the main entry point to the southern provinces and islands in the Gulf of Thailand, especially Koh Tao. Chumphon has over 200 kilometers of coastline with many untouched beaches. It’s a great place for people who want to relax and enjoy activities like sunbathing, swimming, yachting, paragliding, diving, and snorkeling.

One of the popular beaches is Hat Sai Ree. It has white sand and clear water. Near this beach, you can find the Prince Chumpon Shrine and Memorial. Also, from the Khao Matsee viewpoint near Hat Sai Ree, you can see a beautiful view of the sea and sunset.
There are lots of interesting places to visit in Chumphon. For example, the Soldier Youth World War II Monument was built to honor the young children who died in World War II. The Mu Koh Chumphon National Park has a mangrove forest nature trail and islands. The Por waterfall is small but has water flowing all year round and is surrounded by shady trees. At Koh Phitak, you can stay in a home and experience the fisherman community and other activities on the island.
You can also do white-water rafting in Amphoe Phato, ride on a raft to see the beautiful view of Lang Suan River. Likewise, go trekking at Phato Water Source Arrangement Unit, or go snorkeling and diving. There’s also the Chumphon Fishing Resort Thailand and the Khao Matsee Viewpoint. These, which is a great place to see the area. Near Haad Sairee beach, there are a few food and dessert vendors and a coffee shop. Koh Lang Ka Jew is a beautiful island with a white sand beach and sea water that’s the same color as the sky. Every year from September to October, you can see thousands of eagles migrating from Siberia to Chumphon.
When you visit, make sure to try Kanom Chin (rice noodles) with spicy curry in southern style. You can easily find fresh seafood because it is a center of fishery. Some famous products in Chumphon are lady-finger bananas, Sawi pineapples, and baegu leaves. These, which are usually fried with eggs or boiled with curry soup.
